Feeling: Tired
Today is January 30th, 2023 (Monday), and boy does it feel like a Monday. I woke up at 9:30 and made breakfast and here I am an hour later writing this blog. I think yesterday was incredible, I didn’t do much as far as productivity goes but it was the weekend after all. Having it be a Monday, the week has started, and it’s time to kick things into gear. I think this week I’m going to try to make a pop song and release it or at least schedule it to be released. It’s not something that is high stress but I think it could be fun just to say I did it. At this point, I’m just trying to build out my online portfolio which if you’re reading this, I’m probably doing a good job. Unfortunately, I’ve been spending approximately 1-2 hours per blog post so for the sake of productivity, blogs may become shorter moving forward.
Personal productivity aside, I should probably work on my classes. I feel as though I’m falling behind since two of my classes are strictly text-book based and they don’t post online lectures which was a luxury of covid that I got accustomed to. I’m finding my classes are getting more and more difficult as teachers are expecting students to cheat. So they make the exams harder and make the proctoring more strict. This just results in a 70% class average but hey, whatever makes them look like a better teacher I guess. Not sure what would save the American schooling system. It’s flawed in many ways and useless for most jobs. You can teach a 14 y/o kid that dropped out of middle school to be an accountant or to run any job in a business just by training them for a day. I’d be almost certain he’d be happier that way regardless. Higher education is only necessary for medical professionals or engineers who require special licenses. Everything I have learned here in business school is something that won’t stick with you unless you own a business and are actively applying the material. On top of that, I could also learn the same content on youtube - FOR FREE.
For the rest of today, I plan on working on the song as mentioned before then focusing on developing my story-writing skills later on before having to go to work at 5 pm. There aren’t enough hours in a day to do everything I want. I talked with Zach, my roommate, about starting a podcast and then being able to edit down the 1-hour block of content into funny moment clips and posting those in the form of youtube shorts or TikToks. It’s practically duplicating content which is the most sustainable and efficient way to grow. Unfortunately, each mic is $100, the audio interface we would need is roughly $300, and we would need to be able to record 1 hour at a time which there is some skill in filling the silence in a podcast.
