Feeling: Energetic
Today is February 6th, 2023 (Monday), and I’m sitting in my first class writing the beginning of this blog moments before I take my investments quiz over portfolio theory. I wanted to start this blog so I didn’t lose a thought I had. I stayed awake for some time last night, reflecting on my performance. I have these huge ambitions for this blog since it allows me to make whatever I want. I had an idea to start a food section of the blog because I have a passion for cooking. I reevaluated this decision because this was something I thought up while researching how to prepare steak. It was a flash-in-the-pan idea (pun intended) but I realize I already have another section of this blog (self-improvement), which I already don’t have enough time to post on regularly. I repeatedly hear that focus is the most essential skill you can learn in today’s world. I understand this craving to make content on anything I want is a distraction that will eventually spread me too thin by trying to tackle too many projects at once. Eventually, I would love to start a food channel when I have someone else handle specific tasks that free my hands up dramatically. I think this daily blog could eventually be turned into a book of sorts. I think I cover a bunch of valuable topics that could be compiled into short and sweet lessons.
I don’t stress focus as being the quintessential skill in today’s world enough. You should always be working on one project at a time to maximize the return on your time. Even if you are working on 2 projects at the same time, each project gets done in twice the amount of time, and generally speaking, you don’t see a return on your efforts until after your project is complete. I’m finding it difficult to focus on this project, however, because there isn’t a set end date or completion form. I write these blogs every day for my enjoyment and practice whether others read these or not. They also take up more of my time than expected. Each blog takes about 1-2 hours of my time every morning which I could be spending drafting a script for youtube or recording something to post on more well-known social media platforms. I know this blog isn’t doing much for me outside of making sure I’m doing something productive instead of consuming more of others’ content. Apart from that, it isn’t making me any revenue yet which gets me nowhere in the case of my goals.
Maybe one day my blogs will have consistent viewers but for now, I’m just writing these for my enjoyment and to get my thoughts written out. I do, however, need to develop my funnel. I need a way to monetize my current viewership which at my current low following, would be kind of fun to practice my sales and whatnot. If I could get conversions, it would say a lot about my abilities. Maybe that’ll be my next thing to research.
That’s all the time I have for this blog, follow my social media below!
